Technical assistance
One of the key directions of the EAG activities is technical assistance in establishing and developing of financial intelligence unit and improvement of national AML/CFT systems in the EAG member states, including the issues of staff training.
Technical assistance is a complex of measures to transfer AML/CFT knowledge with the aim of creating conditions for integrating national AML/CFT systems of the EAG member states into the global AML/CFT system.
The EAG coordinates programs of international cooperation and technical assistance with relevant international organizations, bodies and interested states, as well as keeping records when preparing technical assistance programs to the EAG member states.
The aims of technical assistance are:

To raise the effectiveness of interaction among national financial intelligence units (FIU) on the basis of equality and mutual profitability.

To create precise and effective mechanisms for quick and practical cooperation among partner states, as well as comprehensible and effective conditions for information exchange.

To summarize and use the best practices of the EAG national FIUs.

Provision of compliance of national informational systems of FIUs with the FATF and the Egmont Group standards.

Lining skills levels of specialists of the EAG national AML/CFT systems.

Draft development of legislation and other by-laws of the EAG.

Establishment and improvement of subsystem of collection, storage, and primary data processing.
