Kyrgyz FIU joins Egmont
The Financial Intelligence Service of Kyrgyzstan became a member of the Egmont Group which unites the FIUs of 116 countries.
This will allow the Kyrgyz FIU to be part of the information exchange process which is implemented within Egmont on the basis of secure Internet channels.
The participation of the Financial intelligence service of Kyrgyzstan in the Egmont Group became possible due to dynamic development of the FIU and harmonization of the national AML/CFT legislation in Kyrgyzstan. Within the EAG, advisory and technical assistance is being provided to Kyrgyzstan of which a significant ammount is thanks to the input of Rosfinmonitoring.
The EAG will now focus its efforts on providing assistance to the newly formed FIU of Kazakstan in order for it to join Egmont.
