The Senate of Oliy Majlis (the upper house of the Uzbek parliament) approved the law on "Agreement on the Eurasian group on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism" at the plenary session on Tuesday.
The Eurasian group on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism unites the countries of the Eurasian region to make joint efforts to combat economic crime and to reduce the threat of international terrorism. The organization was founded in 2004.
At present, Belarus, India, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are the members of the Eurasian group.. About 15 international and regional organizations have the observer statuses in this group.
Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Dec. 6, Trend / D. Azizov /The Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan on Wednesday approved ratification the agreement on the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing."
The agreement has been adopted by Parliament and sent to the President in the form of the law.
