The meeting was chaired by Mr. Vatanzoda, legal advisor of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and head of the standing Interagency Commission.
In course of the meeting, Mr. Ikromi, deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, as well as the executive officers of the Financial Monitoring Department and the Commission members representing the national law enforcement and AML/CFT/CPF supervisory agencies delivered presentations and reports to the meeting attendees.
In should be noted that the standing Interagency Commission on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing and Terrorism and Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction was established pursuant to the Resolution of the Tajik Government of October 4, 2013 for coordinating actions and efforts undertaken by the Republic of Tajikistan to address the important AML/CFT issues.
The members of the standing Interagency Commission who represented various national ministries and agencies discusses a number of issues. In particular, they adopted the Report on National Assessment of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Risks (NRA); considered issues pertaining to cooperation between the Financial Monitoring Department under the National Bank of Tajikistan and the law enforcement, regulatory and supervisory agencies of the Republic of Tajikistan; discussed the aspects of the 2nd round of AML/CFT/CPF mutual evaluations conducted by the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism; addressed other outstanding issues and defined further measures and actions.
